The key mission of the Asset Performance Engineer (HME) is to analyse & communicate asset performance to empower stakeholders to make the right business decisions.
To achieve this mission the Asset Performance Engineer must (among other requirements):
- Possess exceptional knowledge and ability across many domains including Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and their applications in mining; computing/visualizing data; and industry best practices,
- Be a strong and influential communicator that is able to clearly articulate and explain complex topics to various stakeholders,
- Have strong technical ability in querying, analysing & reporting on different data sources.
By combining strong HME knowledge with outstanding communication & technical skills, the Asset Performance Engineer is able to identify valuable improvement opportunities and help ensure the focus of the HME Engineering team and the business in general is appropriate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain a standard suite of HME reports to ensure that performance can be assessed and benchmarked with consistency
- Develop custom visualisations & data sources (e.g. Tableau dashboards) to the required functionality and agreed timeframe,
- Monitor the accuracy of all asset performance data sources and, where necessary, coordinate & drive any required improvements
- Ensure confidence in reporting through consistent quality control and assurance,
- Grow & maintain strong engagement with site execution teams & other business stakeholders,
- Relentlessly optimise and automate all elements of routine reporting throughout the Engineering team
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years mining experience in a mobile maintenance environment
- Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering (desirable)
- Proven experience in developing data visualisations (including Tableau), structuring and storing data (including T-SQL & Snowflake).
- Data warehousing (incl. Snowflake) and data integration (essential)
- HME System Knowledge (essential)
- OSI Pi experience (desirable)
