The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Maintenance Planner to work at our Zone 5 Operation in Botswana working on a 6:3 roster.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading and driving improved Pronto utilisation, maintenance planning and scheduling processes to ensure a reliable, efficient and effective approach is achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must ensure that relevant Acts and Regulations are adhered to, and the company safety standards and policies are followed.
  • Maintaining information of Plant Maintenance systems and identifying changes to report requirements
  • Prepare weekly planning and scheduling meeting information ready for weekly scheduling meetings.
  • Accountable for the efficient and accurate generation of the maintenance short term and medium-term forecast and schedules for the timely execution of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Review current backlog list/s for emerging issues and priorities, identify whether they are still current and subject to agreement with the Maintenance Superintendent/Foreman instigate actions to plan, schedule and execute the tasks.
  • Assigning resources, materials and durations to work orders in suitable timeframes to enable the timely execution of maintenance works with consultation with Maintenance Foreman.
  • Ensure that work orders are raised for all maintenance tasks that may be of historical significance, consumes internal labour or involves reasonable cost and where appropriate, using PM tasks as job templates.
  • Schedule and record Statutory Inspections and assist with Registered Plant as per Barminco procedures.
  • Monitoring of the S.O.S analysis including subsequent actions and the compilation of reports where required for others.
  • Developing workshop standards and specifications
  • Contributing to strong performance against established maintenance KPI
  • Assist with reporting on the warranty claims and receipts in Pronto ensuring that the company receives its due entitlements in accordance with agreed warranty conditions.
  • Effectively manage parts availability
  • Accountable for any other reasonable instructions from direct manager.

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  • Highly experienced in all areas Maintenance planning and strategy techniques
  • Detailed experience and working knowledge of Pronto (SAP or similar system) plant maintenance planning and materials, costing system
  • Experienced or familiar with Qlikview reporting package
  • Previous experience working autonomously or with limited supervision in mobile plant Maintenance Planning/Scheduling function
  • Good working familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook etc
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with excellent Customer Focus
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A Front-Line Management qualification, Maintenance management qualification or Engineering qualification would be highly regarded
