King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. Undergoing significant expansion, KOTH is nearing completion of a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant (previously 5.2Mtpa), providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Auto Electrician is responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the Surface operations and as required to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner and all work carried out is aligned with Vault Minerals operation specific quality procedures and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Ensure that all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standard.
• Support the efficient operation of the production facilities by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application, to minimise down time and subsequent loss of production.
• Correct and/or report safety and environmental hazards when identified to mitigate risk and reduce the occurrence of incidents and/or injury by investigating and reporting.
• Perform quality fault finding to ensure accurate diagnosis of faults.
• Ensure that all required parts are included in a scope of works for future equipment repairs as Identified through maintenance tasks and inspections.
• Ensure all stock items used are booked out of the store.
• Prioritise and respond quickly to urgent breakdowns impacting production or safety.

About You

• Previous experience in open pit mining maintenance operations, supported by a Trade Certificate in Automotive Electrical Fitting or an equivalent recognised qualification, with proven capability in the safe diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of mobile mining equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to minimise equipment downtime through efficient identification and resolution of electrical faults while ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
• Skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex electrical, electronic, and control systems across a wide range of equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, loaders, graders, and ancillary mobile plant.
• Refrigerant Handling Licence and Air Conditioning (ARC) accreditation, with demonstrated experience in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of automotive air conditioning systems.
• Understanding of Hitachi and CAT equipment systems, contributing to improved equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance.
• Proficient in fault-finding using diagnostic software and OEM tools, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting CAN bus networks, and repairing wiring harnesses, sensors, lighting systems, communication systems, and machine monitoring technology.
• Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020 the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
• Holds a High Risk Work (HRW) Licence (LF, WP & DG).
• Current certifications in Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry.
• Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class).
