About the Roles
BHP WA Iron Ore is one of the world’s leading suppliers of iron ore. The Company’s operations currently involve an integrated system of seven inland mines, more than 1,000 kilometres of rail and two separate port facilities; Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland.
We are seeking highly skilled Auto Electricians to join either Field Maintenance or Mobile Equipment Maintenance (workshop) vacancies across many of our Iron Ore sites. The successful individuals will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will demonstrate the following:
- Auto Electrical diagnostic process and experience in repairing of Mobile Plant Equipment (CAT, Liebherr, Epiroc & Komatsu, Hitachi - desirable);
- Testing engine safety, part upgrades, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance and repairing faults
- Diagnostic and breakdown experience in both trucks & ancillary
- Methodical approach to installation, maintenance and repair work
- Commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety focus, environment and sustainable development
- Exceptional commitment to cultural harmony when working in a team environment
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
- Use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP), including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way.
- Contributing to our safety and continuous improvement culture, BHP Operating Systems (BOS), by being pro-active and demonstrating a commitment to high standards of execution within your trade.
- Proficiency with computer based planning systems, ideally 1SAP & Fiori
- Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of work
- Following specific maintenance programs and procedures and carrying out checks on equipment as required.

You will have the option to nominate the site/sites of interest at application.
Working in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning. Flights are also available from Bussleton to our Jimblebar and Eastern Ridge mine sites.

About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Auto Electrician Trade (Australian recognised);
- Experience working as an Auto Electrician in a mining environment (desirable)
- Exceptional diagnostic, repair and breakdown experience within a heavy industry environment - Earthmoving ideal.
- A current manual drivers licence;
- Dogging, Rigging & Forklift High Risk Licence (desirable not essential);
- Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP;
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes;
