Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Yancoal MTW are currently looking for an enthusiastic and driven Automotive Electrical Maintainer to become a valued member of our team at Mount Thorley Warkworth. You will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance and breakdown repairs. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in the Mobile maintenance areas of our business.

You will be working on a range of OEM fleet including Water Carts, Graders, Track Dozer, Scrapers and Service Trucks, whilst working the rotating 4/5 lifestyle rotating roster.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

Essential Criteria:

  • Automotive Electrical Trade or equivalent;
  • Proven Heavy Industry experience on mobile equipment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
  • Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work;
  • Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Desirable criteria:

  • SAP experience;
  • Previous OEM Experience;
  • Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
  • Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
