Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 Roster: 7D 7N 7OFF FIFO EX PERTH

Fortescue is seeking a skilled and driven HRT or Light Vehicle Mechanic to enhance our Light vehicle department. This full-time role is pivotal in performing a wide range of duties across the site, as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform proactive preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure strong availability across the fleet
• Repair breakdowns in a safe and efficient manner ensure longevity of vehicles
• Utilise OEM manuals to determine required parts and methodologies to complete repairs to all vehicles across site
• Utilise SAP to enter and record all maintenance activities
• Always maintain and safe and clean workplace

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a trade qualification in Heavy Road Transport
•  Auto electrical knowledge or experience is an added advantage. Experience with LV, HV, and Mobile plant maintenance in a mining or similar environment.
• Skills in air-conditioning, tire fitting, and wheel aligning are desirable.
• Experience working on Scania trucks – highly desirable
• Capable of working autonomously or leading a team as required.
• Current and valid WA C-Class driver’s licence, as a minimum.
• Additional high-risk tickets and licenses are beneficial.
