Autonomy Technology Specialist
Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Role overview:
Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, this Specialist installs, maintains and improves Autonomy’s products at a site level using an advanced understanding of mobile autonomy and is proficient in supporting the entire Autonomy product portfolio. This position fulfils a technical role on a 8/6 roster within the Mobile Autonomy crew, providing site-based support to the Project team. The Autonomous Specialist will provide guidance and mentoring to stakeholder technicians and maintenance tradespeople, provide day to day technical assistance and provide advice for best maintenance practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Able to diagnose complex faults and articulate the problem/solution succinctly for all level of audiences.
- Ability to undertake all tasks with the correct level of risk assessment to complete the task safely.
- Efficiently communicate work scope to leadership and colleagues during handovers
- Represent Fortescue and Autonomy Operations values by upholding the standard of work, equipment care and personal work ethics
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years working in an Automotive Electrical technician, Mechanical fitter or similar heavy mobile equipment role
- 3 years’ experience with fleet management, autonomous control systems or similar, within a mining technology site support role highly desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Global Positioning Technology, WIFI/LTE Networking Principles, CAN and Serial systems
- Able to apply root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement to increase the reliability of technology products on all HME.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the regulations and procedures governing Fortescue’s autonomous operations and maintenance activities
