About the role
We are looking for Belt Maintainer to prepare and carry out shutdown and breakdown maintenance on conveyor systems and assist with other maintenance teams as required, within the Paraburdoo fixed plant area. Whether you’re new to your profession or experienced in your field, and whatever industry you have exposure to, we have opportunities that will provide interesting work and growth opportunities for everyone.
You’ll be part of a friendly and high performing team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work a FIFO 8 days, on, 6 days off roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
- Daily conveyor inspections to identify common belt damage and mechanical faults
- Determining the method of repair and or replacement
- Carrying out steel cord and fabric conveyor belt splicing and repairs
- Operating mechanical conveyor belt handling equipment such as winders, winches and belt stands
- Sourcing parts in preparation for shutdowns and playing a key role in the execution of shutdown activities
- Ensuring safe work procedures are followed at all times
- Consistently executing safe conveyor system maintenance during shutdowns and breakdowns
