Belt Technician

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 7D7N7R – FIFO ex Perth and Busselton.

Our Fixed Plant Belt Technicians are responsible for repairing, maintaining and improving Conveyor systems and equipment to safely deliver optimum availability and reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish & maintain a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) focused operating culture, in line with Fortescue standards
  • Carry out conveyor cleaner refurbishments, adjustments and installations
  • Conveyor system maintenance including roller changes, roller frame change out & repairs, skirt replacement & repairs, installation of tracking devices
  • Inspect, clean and adjust conveyor cleaners during operation
  • Strive to achieve continuous improvement in belt hygiene across the fixed plant process
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and log all information into the asset management app (PDS)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mechanical Trade/Belt Splicing qualification or similar
  • Belt cleaner maintenance certificate
  • Experience in a fixed plant continuous processing plant
  • Strong understanding of production and maintenance strategies for continuous processing plants
  • Proven commitment to safety and zero harm
  • SAP, PDS experience desirable
