Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak Mine Site, located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli Peoples
Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra
Cloudbreak is seeking a skilled Belt Technician to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team. This role is responsible for the safe inspection, repair, maintenance and optimisation of conveyor belt systems and associated equipment to maximise plant reliability, availability and production performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform steel cord and fabric conveyor belt splicing, repairs and installations
- Carry out pulley lagging using cold vulcanised rubber in accordance with Fortescue standards
- Apply rubber lining to pipes, spools, launders, chutes and other process equipment
- Complete conveyor maintenance activities including roller replacement, frame repairs, skirt maintenance and tracking system installation
- Inspect conveyor systems and identify opportunities to improve reliability and belt performance
- Operate belt handling equipment including winders, winches and belt stands safely and efficiently
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, belt hygiene and workplace safety across the fixed plant
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and accurately record work activities in Fortescue maintenance management systems
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 or 3 Belt Splicing trade qualification or similar.
- Demonstrated experience working on conveyor systems within a fixed plant processing environment
- Strong knowledge of steel cord and fabric belt splicing, repairs and conveyor maintenance practices
- Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
- High Risk Work Licence, Rigging or Dogging (desirable)
- Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications (desirable)
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
