About the Role

We are offering exciting opportunities across our Western Australia Iron Ore business, for people looking for an opportunity to join our business with limited or no industry experience for our Newman Operations.

BHP have designed site based programs to develop cultured, engaged, highly skilled and work ready employees, providing you with industry-leading training and mentoring by some of BHP's talented workforce. The roles available are Residential on a lifestyle roster, based in Newman. We will take your experience from other industries and help you apply it to mining, Why not You? Why not now? The Nationally accredited certificate on offer includes:  

  • Production Processing Trainee – Certificate III in Resource Processing
  • Laboratory Technician Trainee - Certificate III Laboratory Skills
  • Haul Truck Operator Trainee - Certificate II in Surface Extraction

About You

This opportunity is available for enthusiastic and motivated individuals based in Newman, who have a genuine interest in starting a career at BHP. We are looking for an adaptable, positive, individuals who enjoys an active role and are open to exploring the world of mining whilst learning something new every day.

 Applicants wishing to apply for these BHP Residential opportunities must meet the following criteria:

  • Have residence in Newman, Western Australia
  • Hold a C class manual driver's licence 
  • Strong commitment to your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven attendance record (recent school or employment history)
  • A high commitment to safety systems and procedures
  • Enthusiasm to learn and motivation to succeed
  • Demonstrate basic administrative and/or computing skills
