Blast Operator

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth and Busselton

Key responsibilities include: 

• Commitment to and demonstrating our Fortescue values
• Carry out work instructions as directed by Blast Supervisor or appointed Shotfirer
• Marking out, priming, loading, stemming, tie in of blast patterns, blast guard duties and doing everything necessary to support and assist the shot-firer to achieve the daily loading and blasting objectives in a safe and efficient manner
• Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader etc)
• Work as a team member, and do all things necessary to become a valued member of the Blast Crew team

Qualification and Experience: 

• WA C Class Driver's Licence
• Experience working in similar role
• Good communication skills
• Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
• Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
