Blast Operator
Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth and Busselton
Key responsibilities include:
- Commitment to and demonstrating our Fortescue values
- Carry out work instructions as directed by Blast Supervisor or appointed Shotfirer
- Marking out, priming, loading, stemming, tie in of blast patterns, blast guard duties and doing everything necessary to support and assist the shot-firer to achieve the daily loading and blasting objectives in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader etc)
- Work as a team member, and do all things necessary to become a valued member of the Blast Crew team
Qualification and Experience:
- WA C Class Driver's Licence
- Experience working in similar role
- Good communication skills
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
