Blast Operator Trainee

Our Opportunity

Work location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people. 

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth 

This is an exciting opportunity available to applicants that are new to the mining industry with transferrable skills, reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, the position is required to contribute to providing sufficient quantity and quality of blasted stock for mining or processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with FMG values.
• Meet daily operational targets.
• Maintain assets to operational capacity.
• Constantly strive to increase process efficiency.
• Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with FMG values.
• Comply with Zero Harm principles on a daily basis.

Qualifications and Experience

• WA Class C Driver's Licence (manual)
• Dangerous good security clearance – desirable
• Mobile equipment operation in mining industry – desirable
• Communication/ interpersonal skills - two-way operation
• High regard for Safety
• Time management & teamwork skills
