THE ROLE

As Boilermaker in the Deflector Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance to Fixed Plant equipment, borefields, site infrastructure and the village. Your work will be completed safely and plant equipment will be maintained at a high level of availability at all times. You work well in a team and are committed to producing work of a high quality. 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Carrying out Preventative and Planned Maintenance on fixed plant
  • Regular maintenance on crushing circuit which includes Metso jaw crusher, HP cone crushers and screen, as well as feeders and conveyors
  • Mig and arc welding repairs
  • Provide support to Maintenance Fitters and Electricians
  • Fabrication of structural components to a high level of skill
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Developing and working to site safety procedures
  • Understanding of relevant Australian Standards
  • Crane Driving and Rigging operations
  • Participation in call out roster

ABOUT YOU

You are personable, inclusive and can develop excellent working relationships with your team, other departments, and contractors. You will be able to anticipate needs and react quickly to ensure all plant equipment is functional, as well as manage multiple demands on your time in a calm and considered manner.

You have:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Boilermaker)
  • Demonstrated mine site experience post trade qualification
  • Boilermaking experience in a mineral processing plant
  • Experience with jaw and cone crusher and associated equipment maintenance
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and High Risk tickets are essential
  • The ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Hold a current C Class Driver’s license and First Aid Certificate
  • A proven commitment to safety and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of functions and personalities across the organisation; and
  • Dogging, Rigging and Franna Crane licenses are preferred

THE DEFECTOR PROCESSING PLANT

The Deflector Processing plant has undergone a major capital upgrade, with a CIP circuit and second Ball Mill to the existing crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuit. We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to join our team during this exciting period of growth working on a small, well-maintained and busy plant.

This role is offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas. You will be part of a small, social and friendly team, working on a stable mine that is going from strength to strength. You must hold the right to work in Australia to be considered for this role.
