About the Role

Nickel West is undergoing an exciting business transformation to become a globally significant supplier of battery materials to the electric vehicle market. Nickel West will soon become the world’s largest producer of Nickel Sulphate, a key ingredient in lithium-ion batteries. As the world’s largest producer of nickel briquettes and nickel powder, Nickel West is leading the new-energy revolution in Western Australia.

We are currently looking for qualified boilermakers who have had extensive experience with maintaining fixed plant equipment. We have a couple of FIFO roster options available including 2/1 and 7/7 across a number of our WA Nickel West sites (Mt Keith, Leinster and Cliffs).

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, our Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations;
  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development
  • Working within MEM, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of all plantequipment. Team members are expected to demonstrate focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of their work.
  • Ensuring dispatch and KPI reporting systems are kept up to date and reflect actual equipment status for down time and data is analysed to identify trends and target improvement opportunities;
  • Ensuring adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Australian recognised Boilermaker / Fabrication trade qualification
  • Solid field equipment boilermaking maintenance competency
  • Experience with trucks, tubs repairs, loader, bucket repairs, shovel, open pit loader repairs, and package rebuilds
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, be self-motivated and show passion toward the equipment within the department.
  • Experience in mining maintenance environments
  • Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management systems (desirable)
  • C Class manual driver's license
