As our Boilermaker Supervisor, you will report directly to the Regional Manager and be responsible for the safe delivery of work within the relevant workshop in line with agreed plans and budgets. You will be expected to ensure compliance and management of the applicable health, & safety management plan and maintenance operating policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage work priorities within the workshop to provide timely preparation of equipment that meets agreed delivery schedules.
  • Ensure that all boilermaker/fabrication work performed are done so in a safe manner and in line with company standards and policies.
  • Monitor and report on job costs and hours.
  • Approve scopes/ quotes and update variations on works as required.
  • Approve timesheets, check correct hours are being booked to correct jobs.
  • QAQC paperwork, sign off as completed.
  • Manage work force manning levels to match the changing schedule requirements including approving leave.
  • Effectively manage all maintenance personnel, Force and subcontractors working within the Workshop.
  • Carry out daily PSI (Pre-Shift Information) meetings and record outcomes.
  • Ensure monthly toolbox talks are held to discuss and record all current relevant issues.
  • Ensure all workshop tooling is maintained in a safe and usable condition as per manufactures specification or recommendations.

About You:

  • Drivers Licence.
  • Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification.
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (Desirable).

You will also have experience in the following:

  • Proven experience working on mobile mining equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years heavy workshop and field maintenance experience in a Supervisory capacity.
  • Extensive experience with the maintenance of heavy earth moving equipment frequently used in the mining industry.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all layers of an organisation and with any stakeholder group.
  • Planning and organising skills to monitor performance and to schedule work within a shift.
  • Strong leader with the ability to mentor, coach and delegate tasks
  • Experience in leading integrated operations with multiple functions and associated budget and delivery responsibility.
  • Able to identify lead indicators for safety performance and takes personal lead in recommending appropriate actions to reduce workshop hazards.
  • Knowledge of and experience in rebuilding and fabricating all facets of mobile mining equipment.
