Then this is an excellent opportunity for you to join BHP’s Portfolio Strategy & Development (PS&D) team. PS&D brings together Decision Evaluation, Transaction Analysis, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategy & Market Intelligence work into one team.
This role will focus on Decision Evaluation activities, whose purpose is to lead the evaluation of decisions related to capital investments, planning and commercial opportunities across the Company so that the value of every business decision is clear and well informed. We achieve this by providing independent, robust and high quality holistic evaluations of proposed investment opportunities taking in to account stakeholder impacts, risks and uncertainties. To maximize our influence we operate in a collaborative and commercially astute way.
The successful candidate could come from a diverse range of backgrounds including consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, law or engineering. Irrespective of background, they will be able to offer commercial insight, analytical expertise and strategic thinking, and have strong communication and influencing skills. This person will thrive in an inclusive team environment that fosters collaboration and trust. Their primary accountabilities will be to create long-term shareholder value by framing, modelling, evaluating and clearly communicating proposed investments to senior decision-makers. The PS&D structure enables work and development opportunities across our global PS&D network.
Working either independently or in cross-functional project, planning, or commercial teams, they will be required to influence and broaden thinking by providing clearly articulated insights to senior management and other key stakeholders.
We are seeking a Specialist to join us in our Perth office.
About You
You will have successfully completed a relevant undergraduate degree and a broadening post graduate finance qualification will be viewed favourably. You have demonstrated experience in financial evaluations supporting investment decisions or technical and operational experience within the resources, manufacturing or other process-driven industry. Experience across both would be an advantage, but is not essential.

You have demonstrated interpersonal skills with an engaging style allowing you to communicate confidently and build strong working relationships.
