Business Improvement Specialist

Work Location: Solomon. Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering & Reliability, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end management of multiple business improvement projects from concept, design to implementation including the associated scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

Key accountabilities:

• Drive innovation and site initiatives to deliver additional sustained value
• Facilitate the deployment of improvement initiatives with stakeholders
• Coaching and influencing stakeholders to deliver results with maximum value
• Champion risk assessment and change management processes
• Develop business improvement business case, charters and project plans

Qualifications and skills required:

• Exposure or experience working with iron ore fixed plant - ideal
• Mining experience combined with experience in business improvement processes in mining
• A collaborative interpersonal style with an ability to to work with all levels of stakeholders
• Lean six sigma or similar business improvement certification – ideal
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Project team leadership experience
• Full and unrestricted rights to work in Australia is a requirement for this position.
