We are looking for a Business Improvement Specialist to drive change and support the delivery of the Rio Tinto Safe Production System at Yandi.  

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated Business Improvement professional to play a key role and help add value to one of the world’s largest iron ore mining operations, to work closely with our site leadership team and help realise the site’s full potential.

Reporting to the Principal Business Improvement and working in a collaborative team, you will be:

  • Supporting the deployment and maturity of Rio Tinto Safe Production System (SPS) practices;
  • Influencing and mentoring leaders and team members to achieve waste elimination, process excellence, safety improvements and other business improvement opportunities;
  • Supporting the identification of business improvement opportunities and the delivery of problem-solving activities (Practical Problem Solving and Kaizens);
  • Ensuring improvement project value is verified and captured in Momentum;
  • Governing core business systems such as Spend Control Tower and Management of Change;
  • Demonstrating excellence in teamwork, partnership, communication and stakeholder management to achieve the role outcomes.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in business improvement methodologies (LEAN) and data analysis;
  • Excellent teamwork, partnership and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A drive to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Ability to work in a high-pace role, managing multiple deliverables simultaneously whilst maintaining high levels of autonomy and self-motivation.
