Business Intelligence and Data Engineer - Manufacturing
Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport, WA
Roster: Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert services and solutions to internal customer groups supporting and developing the BI solution for the FFI Manufacturing department
- Support the integration of various systems and tools with SAP as well as other manufacturing solutions with our operating systems
- Working with the business to develop and maintain the automated BI analytical platform, identifying business improvement opportunities, and training end users on business processes and tools
- Contribute to ongoing support and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with FFI/FMG global processes, policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments
- Develop and manage BI solutions for business process maps and practices
- Deliver continuous improvements based on the strategic vision and daily operational needs of business end users for system tools
- Develop tools & processes to integrate local systems with SAP
- Create and maintain documentation (including requirements, design and user manuals), policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
- Cooperate with our IT department and SAP department to deploy software and hardware upgrades that make it possible for the business to leverage big data use cases
- Design, develop, implement and maintain a high level of understanding of SAP manufacturing Modules, including Production Engineering, Production Planning, Production Operations, APIs (Application Programming Interface), Quality Management (QM), Supply Chain, Warehouse and Materials Management; as well as technical, functional, business processes and requirements, with a continual view to identifying business improvement opportunities
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
- Develop Reporting Systems from SAP and new data analysis processes as per business requirements
- Provide fast and reliable support to operations to troubleshoot and fix operational issues related to systems integration, data quality and reporting
- Develop functional specifications that design and document desired outcomes for system enhancement/development
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), visualizations, and analysis solutions using various reporting tools
- Oversee the data warehouse, including the collection and utilisation of all data
- Exhibits and manages to our Values and Code of Conduct
Qualifications and skills required:
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
- SAP Certification (desirable)
- Broad expertise across the manufacturing and production area including but not limited to Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC), Production Engineering, Production Planning, Production Operations, APIs (Application Programming Interface), Quality Management (QM), Supply Chain, Warehouse and Materials Management
- Functional and Technical knowledge of SAP Manufacturing configuration, SAP S/4 Hana (desirable) or in-depth knowledge of the SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud(DMC), SAP Analytics, Supply Chain, MM, PP, QM, PM, SD modules
- 5 Years experience in system tools integration within SAP in manufacturing environment
- Intermediate to advance code writing skills, in particular in SQL query, and Excel VBA
- Intermediate to advance data automation skills, such as Power Automate
- Intermediate to advanced data visualization skills, using Power BI and Tableau
- Broad knowledge of data warehousing, and data analytic tools/software
- Ability to read code and support applications, reports and processes
- Ability to communicate findings with management
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing operations, business processes, business tools and the flow of data
- Knowledge of IT hardware and networking solutions an advantage
- Strong ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation
- Sound technical specification writing/documentation skills
- An appreciation of both IT and business strategy
- Strong customer service focus
- Outstanding communication skill, both verbally and in written form
- Must be able to be able to plan and manage own workload (self-directing) with minimal oversight, escalating where necessary to address potential risks or resolve issues
