We are seeking a Business (Operations) Readiness Manager to join our Project Delivery team based at Cadia.

Operations near and far

Cadia is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Project Director, this role will provide Leadership, Systems, and Scoping across our Cadia Integrated Tailings Project.

The scope of the role is to ensure that all operational aspects and considerations are thoroughly assessed and executed during project development, thereby enabling a safe and efficient transition from the Project Management Team to the respective Operational Owners and Functions. In conjunction with this, you will spearhead the formation of our new readiness team, playing a pivotal role in establishing a high-performing group dedicated to our project’s readiness and success.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

Health & Safety

  • Ensure work is conducted using the appropriate risk assessment and risk management strategy in accordance with safety standards, frameworks and that behaviours are aligned to a culture of minimizing employee risk and harm
  • Ensure all projects are managed and implemented safely, consistent with practices to ensure absolute compliance to all regulations, laws, policies, procedures & standards

Leadership, People & Development

  • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with the site operations team to manage the business readiness processes
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, business partners, environmental experts, and safety professionals, to ensure seamless integration of operational requirements

Technical

  • Develop and Refine Business Readiness Plan (BRP)
  • Execute Business Readiness Plan
  • Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact the successful execution of the operations readiness plan
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address identified risks
  • Establish performance metrics and indicators to measure the progress of business readiness activities
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance operational processes, streamline workflows, and optimize resource utilization

You will also possess the following: 

  • Tertiary qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline plus 5-10 years of demonstrated experience at a manager level across project delivery/operational roles in a mix of industry sector.
  • Experience in project delivery focusing on operational/business readiness preparation and execution.
  • Understanding of tailings management principles, safety protocols, and environmental regulations would be advantageous
