Are you looking for a Permanent HR Business Partner role working for a leading mining contractor?

This role is a fantastic opportunity to bring your HR experience and move into the mining industry or continue you HR career in mining not working FIFO. This role is based at the Macmahon Brisbane Office on Level 21, conveniently located a 2 minute walk from Brisbane Central Station. The office boasts end of journey facilities for those self-powering their commute. Site travel will be on an as required basis. 

Reporting to the HR Superintendent and working as part of a wider HR team in this role you will partner with the business to translate the business objectives into fit for purpose people solutions.

Your key stakeholders will be leaders and operational managers who you will partner with to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to advise on and influence business decisions 
  • Identify and implement ‘best for business’ People solutions that are aligned with business objectives
  • Partner with stakeholders to facilitate / participate in workplace investigations and disciplinary processes, ensuring statutory reporting obligations are adhered to 
  • Lead People change management initiatives
  • Manage complex employee queries
  • Facilitate key actions aligned with the delivery of the Industrial Relations, Organisational Development and Remuneration & Benefits initiatives 
  • Leverage key HRIS tools to deliver and support People activities and encourage leaders to use technology to increase efficiency and drive business results 
  • Analyse and interpret Macmahon employee data and key People metrics to identify workforce trends, understand and respond to workforce needs, including identifying and implementing mitigation strategies 
     

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar senior level position 
  • Mining experience whilst preferable is not essential
  • Experience in a similar environment (heavy industry / contracting / service provider) would be advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of HR/ER practices and employment legislation
  • Experience managing complex workplace investigations
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Ability to undertake site travel as required 
  • SuccessFactors experience would be advantageous
