About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business Support Officer to join our North Goonyella Mine.  North Goonyella mine is an underground longwall mine located 160 kilometres west of Mackay producing a premium quality, high strength coking coal for export markets.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will assist in a range of purchasing, warehouse, and general administrative duties which will be to contribute to the operational excellence of the North Goonyella’s mine.

Duties will include:

Purchasing:

  • Liaising with suppliers and internal customers to manage order tracking, expedition, and cancellation.
  • Build, review and approve supplier purchase orders, considering volume and freight discount opportunities.

Warehousing:

  • Working with stakeholder to manage lead time on parts.
  • Routine management of rotable and repairable materials to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • SAP Purchase requests

General Admin:

  • Coordinate site visits and site functionsManage travel bookings and liaise with accommodation services for all new Peabody employees
  • Other administrative tasks such as maintaining files, data entry, stationery orders, keeping meeting minutes, receipting invoices, archiving. 
  • GM/SSE/SLT calendar management
  • Uniform ordering
  • Preparation of monthly operations reports
  • Monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Monthly KRONOS reconciliation
  • Travel coordination
  • SAP Purchase requests

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About You:

Critical to your success will be:

  • Experience using SAP
  • Current mine site experience in administration duties
  • Solid computer entry skills and the ability to quickly pick up new systems
  • A passion for helping others and doing whatever jobs need doing
  • Excellent time management and record keeping skills
  • A good team player attitude
