We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 230 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be reporting to the Commercial Superintendent and will assist with the provision of accounting services for Cameby Downs Coal Company and provide timely reporting to management.

• Assist with end of month accounting, including preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, capital & opex reporting.
• Assist with government reporting and lodgments.
• Assist in preparation of internal & external reporting obligations. 
• Provide general Ad hoc support to team as required. 
• Compliance to safety standards, legislation and company policies.

• Currently studying or enrolled to study a Bachelor's of Commerce, Business or Accounting.  
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and proactive attitude
• Effective problem-solving skills
• An enthusiasm to learn new skills
• Be passionate about accounting 
• Current Australian Open Driver's Licence
