We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our Hazelmere team. This position is responsible for the procurement and expediting of parts and services, coordinating shipments to offshore projects, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure that orders are filled, receipted, and ready to reconcile with invoices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Procure required goods and services as per published schedules at best possible price in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review and expedite orders, including the follow up of credits, to ensure timely delivery and facilitate timely payment of invoices.
  • Coordinate sales and shipments to offshore projects, working closely with customers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance with all governing regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing slips, and export paperwork.
  • Support vendor onboarding processes, including gathering required documentation, verifying compliance, and assisting with system setup.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, freight partners, and end-users.
  • Continuously review and benchmark current and potential suppliers to identify cost savings and ensure the company is procuring the best available value for money goods and services.
  • Assist and support all users with queries on parts catalogue, purchase orders and procurement system.
  • Support resolution of purchase order issues, queries and discrepancies.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the mining sector is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating international shipments and preparing export documentation is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated high-level computer skills and knowledge with Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with SAP and/or pronto ERP purchasing systems is preferred.
  • Well-developed time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ essential.
  • Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS & NPC).
