About the Role

We are looking for an Maintainer Carpenter to join the Yandicoogina Infrastructure Team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who is looking for a rewarding role in fantastic location in the Pilbara.

Working an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster and reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor, the role will entail:

  • Following Work Management procedures and using of SAP to complete work orders, raise notifications, attach SoW and time confirmations
  • Carrying out scheduled Site Infrastructure maintenance on areas including Minesite buildings and Workshops
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs
  • Support the safety culture and ensure that the RTIO core values are always adhered
  • Responsible for identifying critical infrastructure spares, maintaining accurate inventory and housekeeping of said parts/spares
  • Identifying Improvements with maintenance tactics and site infrastructure
  • Providing operational feedback to supervisors and being responsible for following Rio Tinto Iron Ore safe work practices 
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures to ensure they are always adhered to
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in and out of the workshops and other areas to ensure a safe work environment and effectively managing risks
  • Working proactively and efficiently in a team environment
  • Will be required to conduct tasks outside your work role (general maintenance works)

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Manual C-Class Australian Drivers Licence
  • Cert 3 in Carpentry
  • High Risk Work License – Forklift (desirable)
  • Basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar highly regarded
  • Previous experience in the mining industry, preferably within Maintenance and Infrastructure
  • Ability to work cooperatively in small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
