About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your role will involve maintenance of work sites including cabinetry, door, and roof repairs amongst other maintenance tasks. In addition, development and long-term maintenance and reliability strategies with input into technical documentation relating to mechanical systems, while utilising BHP’s processes and standards. This is a permanent opportunity based in Leinster offering a dayshift FIFO roster from Perth; 5 days on 2 off, 4 days on 3 off. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with your Supervisor to ensure Site Facilities are maintained to a high standard
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Adequately and effectively scoping and executing minor renovation works such as painting and installing new fixtures (i.e. cabinetry, doors, flooring).
- Assist other trades where requested and required (Plumbing Technicians, Refrigeration Mechanics, Fire Technicians)
- Act as a general handyperson executing a wide variety of tasks
- Complete Field Leadership activities
About Leinster Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. About You
To be considered for this position, you will possess the following:
- Australian recognised Carpentry Trade with experience in second fix carpentry
- Current and unrestricted ‘C’ Class Manual Drivers Licence
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, be self-motivated and show passion toward maintaining Site buildings and infrastructure to a high standard.
- Experience in mining environments, desirable but not a necessity
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management systems (desirable)
- High Risk Licences – Forklift, Work at Heights and EWP (desirable)
