We are looking for a Category Specialist – Infrastructure who is smart, driven, and thrives on solving complex challenges. This is a strategic role within our Global Technology Procurement team, your chance to influence global sourcing decisions that power Rio Tinto’s technology transformation.
If you can solve complex challenges, visualise the ‘bigger picture’ and deliver tangible and sustainable results, we want to hear from you. This role will suit someone with strong technology procurement and/or industry experience in areas such as cloud and compute, global networks and operational technology.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor Technology Infrastructure, you will:
Shape and implement global category strategies for Technology Infrastructure, driving commercial outcomes that deliver real value
Lead strategic technology sourcing projects and supplier negotiations for complex technology services
Build strong stakeholder relationships across the business and provide commercial leadership
Drive innovation and process excellence through supplier partnerships and best-in-class procurement practices
Contribute to fact-based analysis and strategic recommendations that influence global decisions
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

Proven experience in Technology procurement and category management or technology industry experience with demonstrated commercial or service tower ownership, ideally with technology infrastructure and global exposure
High energy, results-driven, and passionate about continuous improvement
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and change leadership skills
Ability to think strategically, manage multiple priorities, and deliver measurable outcomes
