We are looking for an experienced and motivated Change Management Lead to join our Reward team for a 9-month fixed term contract (with possible extension), in Brisbane or Perth, Australia.

Working as part of a project team you will be responsible for leading change management initiatives related to the changes we are making to our incentive and recognition programs. Join our team as we work to find better ways to reward and recognise our people.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Remuneration and working in a collaborative community within the Employee Reward, Human Resources Product Groups, you will:

  • Focus on the people side of change, to prepare, support and equip our people to adopt the changes made to our incentive and recognition programs
  • Leverage change management methodology, process and tools to create a change strategy which supports adoption of the changes
  • Build a change management plan, to support the implementation of a global recognition program and the decommissioning of local recognition programs, which is integrated with the overall project plan
  • Conduct change impact analysis, identify key stakeholders, and assess change readiness
  • Lead engagement, including facilitation of workshops, with impacted groups to provide input to the design, development and delivery of a global recognition program which is enabled by technology
  • Document training requirements and support the design and delivery of training
  • Lead change management initiatives, including coordination of a change network with representatives from cross functional teams
  • Manage stakeholders accordingly, specifically project sponsors, senior leaders, HR leaders, and change and communication leads across the business
  • Partner with our group employee communications team to design, develop and deliver key communications in multiple languages
  • Support with other Reward related activities as necessary

What you’ll bring

  • Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools with experience in large scale organisational change (change management certification preferred)
  • Strong decision-making skills with an ability to take quick action to respond to challenging situations and achieve objectives
  • Exceptional communications skills, written and verbal, with an ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • A flexible and adaptable working style is required for this role, especially the ability to work in an environment where project requirements may change quickly
  • Your openness to working collaboratively with a geographically dispersed project team
  • Ability to build knowledge and understanding of the business environment within Rio Tinto
  • Reward functional understanding or reward background would be beneficial however not an essential requirement
