We are seeking a Change Manager to steer both the technical and strategic aspects of change management within Rio Tinto.
As our preferred applicant you will have demonstrable knowledge to play a key role in ensuring that organisational projects and initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of change management specialists who develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage of required changes.
Reporting to the Chief Advisor, PMO RTHQ Australia, accountabilities of the role will include:
- Develop capability for the Organisational Change Management Chapter, including managing chapter ceremonies and rituals, standards and frameworks, reporting, governance and talent management.
- Ensure appropriate and consistent application globally of the Rio Tinto change management approach and its associated methodologies and tools. Additionally, you will support the Head of Partnering and Projects with communication and engagement activities.
- You will be responsible for building world class capability in our Asia Pacific delivery chapter with equal focus on major projects (construction, closure and feasibility), global programs (e.g. Workday) and regional projects as the capability we wish to develop.
- Strategic and informed counsel on change management to senior leaders based on experience, industry-best practice, trends and business requirements.
- Defines change success metrics and measuring performance at a portfolio level.
- Provides reporting and other updates to management and project teams.
- Actively keep abreast of organisational strategy, initiatives and key issues to ensure the team can operate at the very highest level.
- Manage relationships with Domain leads, delivery teams globally throughout the program/ project lifecycle including providing support and consultation on key changes, defining the scope and responsibilities of the change program at various stages.
- Manage communications and engagements for Head of Partnering and Projects.
- Coach and train a team of global change practitioners.
- Continually seek opportunities to raise awareness of the role of change management and ensure continuous improvement of the practice.

- Grows and optimises the team with a deliberate and structured pathway for the types of projects, leveraging the people capability model.

Change Management Expertise
- PROSCI or equivalent Change Management Certification and equivalent experience.
- Clear and concise understanding of how people go through a change and the change process in large complex environment.

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and broad stakeholder knowledge across global Product Groups and Functions.
- A high level of diplomacy and the ability to manage conflict and gain consensus.
