Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
MTW are seeking an organised and proactive Administration Assistant to provide service to the CHPP Department on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Superintendent, this role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the key stakeholders within the CHPP department. The role will contribute to achieving plan on a page targets and building an inclusive safety culture.

Essential Criteria: • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, database applications; • Effective time management, co-ordination, scheduling, record keeping and organisational skills; • Ability to work independently, with initiative and flexibility; • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively across a variety of stakeholders; • Self-starter with the ability to prioritise and organise effectively; • Ability to problem solve effectively; • Knowledge of mining industry and understanding of a coal handling preparation plant; • Well-developed communication style both verbal and written.
Desirable criteria: • Certificate IV in Business Administration and experience using SAP
