CHPP Co-Disposal Operator Maintainer

About the role: 

We are currently seeking an CHPP Co-Disposal Operator Maintainer to join our Coppabella mine site. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Reporting to the CHPP Co-Disposal Supervisor, you will work as part of a small team operating all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules and the co-disposal operational plan along with the following duties.  

Duties will include:

• Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System
• Operate excavator, dozer, IT loader and articulated dump truck for co-disposal operation
• Monitor rejects deposition within the co-disposal cells to ensure compliance with the operational plan
• Complete weekly maintenance of reject pipeline in compliance with maintenance regimes
• Provide first response maintenance to reject pipeline in the event of failures
• Complete general earthworks around CHPP and co-disposal areas

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.  Employees living residentially have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of mortgage interest or rental payments.

About you:

• Prior experience operating machinery on a mine site strictly required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of dam construction and earthworks desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Ability to take accountability and ownership of role and responsibilities
• Staunch commitment to safety and environment as a way of life
