About the role:
We are currently seeking an CHPP Co-Disposal Operator Maintainer to join our Coppabella mine site. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the CHPP Co-Disposal Supervisor, you will work as part of a small team operating all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules and the co-disposal operational plan along with the following duties.
Duties will include:
- Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System
- Operate excavator, dozer, IT loader and articulated dump truck for co-disposal operation
- Monitor rejects deposition within the co-disposal cells to ensure compliance with the operational plan
- Complete weekly maintenance of reject pipeline in compliance with maintenance regimes
- Provide first response maintenance to reject pipeline in the event of failures
- Complete general earthworks around CHPP and co-disposal areas
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. About you:
- Prior experience operating machinery on a mine site strictly required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of dam construction and earthworks desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to take accountability and ownership of role and responsibilities
- Staunch commitment to safety and environment as a way of life
