Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 200 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Cameby Downs is currently looking for a CHPP Technician - Mechanical.  Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Planner, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team.  You will be responsible for the Planned, Routine and Corrective mechanical maintenance within the CHPP.   The role will require you to:

• Participate and adhere to the site SHMS - Prides/Hazards reporting and risk assessments 
• Maintenance of the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP)
  • Preventative and routine maintenance
  • Planned monthly CHPP shutdown and extended shutdowns
  • Maintain accurate work order/s
  • Complete SAP work orders and purchasing
  • CHPP Plant Inspections
  • Identifying improvement opportunities
• CHPP breakdown work - as required

You will be required to work a 7/7 Roster (Wednesday to Thursday) with 12.25hr shifts (day shift only).  

Skills and Experience

• Experience maintaining industrial fixed plant is essential
• Experience working safely in an industrial environment
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Good computer literacy
• Flexibility to change as priorities change
• Good team work in a small team environment
• Relevant industrial Mechanical Trade Qualifications
• Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
• Standard 11 induction - advantageous
• RII's for operating loaders and dozers - advantageous
