Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 170 people, and aim to support our local communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the CHPP Supervisor, the CHPP Leading Hand is responsible for leading a team of Operator/Maintainers to operate and maintain the Coal Handling Preparation Plant in a safe and efficient manner to meet company sales requirements and customer coal quality specifications.
- Lead a small team
- Manage the operation of mobile equipment, ROM/Bypass and TLO
- Promote and maintain compliance of the SHMS and associated QLD Coal Mining legislative requirements.

To be successful for this role you will display the following skills and attributes:
- Knowledge and understanding of the QLD Coal Mining Act & Regulations
- Experience maintaining industrial fixed plant
- A proven track record with regard to safe and productive operating practices
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer literacy
- Flexibility to change as priorities change
- Good team work in a small team environment
- Relevant industrial Electrical / Mechanical Trade Qualifications
- Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
