About the role: We are currently seeking a CHPP Maintenance Planner at our Coppabella Moorvale mine.  Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile PCI coal for export markets.

Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent, you will utilise your planning expertise and work closely with the Production and Maintenance teams to maximise performance and reliability of equipment. You will interact with the team of operator/maintainers, supervisors and maintenance co-ordinators to ensure targeted work output and performance is achieved. You will also provide technical maintenance support to the CHPP Department where required, enabling the operation to drive the delivery of key performance targets.

Duties will include:

  • Evaluate all planned major maintenance activities and prepare work scopes;
  • Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work;
  • Plan Work Orders including consideration for resources, quality, parts, equipment, schedules and costs;
  • Identify and secures all parts and materials required to complete the work;
  • Determine and identify any vendor delivered service for the work order;
  • Provide a total cost estimate for the work to be performed: labour, material, and outside services; and,
  • Ensure SAP is accurately updated and reflects the work of the team.

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.  Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.

About you:

  • Relevant Trades qualification;
  • Minimum of 3 years operations / maintenance experience;
  • Sound knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling principles and procedures;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems; SAP along with Microsoft Project highly desirable
  • Parts and equipment sourcing techniques with equipment OEM’s and after-market suppliers;
  • Strong Knowledge of Coal Preparation Handling Plant Equipment & Processes ;
  • A Sound knowledge of Master Data (Creating/Updating Task List, Maintenance Plans) experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSA’s, Risk Assessments and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
