About the role: We are currently seeking a CHPP Maintenance Planner at our Coppabella Moorvale mine.  Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile PCI coal for export markets.

Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent, you will safely and efficiently lead the CHPP Maintenance crews to meet plant targets in line with production schedules.   

You will also provide technical maintenance support to the CHPP Department where required, enabling the operation to drive the delivery of key performance targets.

Duties will include:

• Ensuring that employees are adequately instructed and complying with all safety procedures and systems, HR policies and procedures, relevant statutory legislation  
• Regularly inspecting workplace for safe work practices and environment and actively promoting mine safety among the workforce 

• Strong commitment to safety 
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the operations and/or maintenance of a coal (or similar) minerals processing plant 
• Relevant competencies and Tertiary Qualifications  

• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices and an understanding of key drivers of a CHPP 
• Uncompromising commitment to safety 

• Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the CHPP  
• Identifying workplace issues and resolving them in a timely manner. 
• Promoting a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost saving initiatives 

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.  Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.

About you:

• Relevant Trades qualification;
• Minimum of 5 years operations / maintenance experience;
• Sound knowledge of maintenance principles and procedures;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with computerised maintenance management systems; SAP along with Microsoft Project highly desirable
• Parts and equipment sourcing techniques with equipment OEM’s and after-market suppliers;
• Strong Knowledge of Coal Preparation Handling Plant Equipment & Processes ;
• A Sound knowledge of Master Data (Creating/Updating Task List, Maintenance Plans) experience is highly desirable
• Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSA’s, Risk Assessments and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
