About the role: We are currently seeking an CHPP shift Supervisor to join our Coppabella mine site. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the CHPP Production Superintendent, you will work as part of a team operating all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules and the operational plan along with the following duties.
Duties will include:
- Identify, report and act on all hazards whilst complying with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System
- Supervise crew on the Operation of the Prep Plant, stockpiler dozer and train loadout.
- Complete weekly maintenance of CHPP in compliance with maintenance regimes.
- Provide first response maintenance in the event of failures
- Maintain and schedule work orders in due regard to priority indicated and provide regular reports showing compliance with schedules
- Coordinate and liaise with production team, contractors and key stakeholders
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 7 on 7off roating day and night shifts and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you:
- Prior experience in CHPP & machinery on a mine site strictly required
- Trade Qualification – Electrician / boilermaker / fitter etc
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and supervise teams
- Ability to take accountability and ownership of role and responsibilities
- Staunch commitment to safety and environment as a way of life
- Possess well-developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills and confidence in your knowledge of work management processes
- Experience using SAP or similar CMMS
In addition to the above requirements, the successful candidate will be an effective team leader and team player, have a positive can-do attitude and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
