About the role We are currently seeking applications for CHPP Supervisor join the team at our our Centurion underground mine, Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit (centurionmine.com.au) Reporting to the CHPP Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership to the CHPP operating team on shift.
- Responsible for the safety of the operator/maintainers and contractors on shift;
- Complete safety investigations;
- Ensure that their direct reports performance is managed and at times follow the disciplinary process to correct performance through our contractor management framework;
- Assist subordinates in their development using the development tools that are available;
- Provide positive feedback to the team when achievements or milestones are achieved;
- Ensure that Operator/Maintainer’s time on sites is accurately recorded and approved;
- Manage the leave calendar to ensure the CHPP is adequately covered;
- Ensure CHPP Contractors attend a daily prestart;
- Supervise CHPP Contractors as required;
- Ensure CHPP contractors have up to date information, access to current standards and SOP’s;
- Facilitate and review JSA’s and other risk management tools as required;
- Manage breakdowns that occur and engage with others to minimise the time that is required to rectify the breakdown;
- Manage the crew for the delivery of feed tonnes, yield, product coal specifications, train loading times, water management and consumable consumption rates;
- Maximise feed throughput, floatation recovery and yield as raw feed allows;
- Ensure that the Daily Shift Log is completed and information entered is correct and relevant;
- Ensure delays, qualities and consumable usage is accurately described when entering information into AMPLA;
- Ensure that there is active engagement with the Mining department on feed ash and other feeding issues;
- Work effectively with the Maintenance and Logistics Teams to ensure the operation of the CHPP is effective and efficient;
- Manage the operation of the co disposal system ensuring that the operating team is planning and executing cannon movements, completing regular inspections on the CDA walls, pipe work, water levels, phreatic water level, drains, dams and other associated infrastructure are being completed and relevant actions are being taken in response to the findings and record results of such inspections.
- Audit the plant processing systems to ensure compliance to the Electrical Engineering Management Plans.

About You:
To be successful in this role, it is imperative for you to have extensive operational experience, be technically minded and have a passion for emerging technologies. Ideally you will possess the following:
- CHPP operational and technical experience
- Hold a trade qualification relevant to Electrical, fitter, plumber or similar trades
- Able to demonstrate a reasonable competence and understanding of:
- Maintenance management (both mechanical and electrical)
- Coordination of High Voltage electrical reticulation
- Supervision and safe execution of maintenance and major shutdowns
- Uncompromising commitment to safety
In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
