About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mine Dispatcher at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of three open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Reporting to the Mine Monitoring and Control Superintendent, you will be responsible to accurately and efficiently oversee the daily operations of the heavy mobile equipment, and related resources, using fleet management system and coordinating with operations supervisor.

You will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the successful performance of the mine along with the following duties:

  • Coordinate people, machinery and equipment to achieve optimal production in accordance with mine plan priorities
  • Ensure that the fleet management system is in good operational condition
  • Work collaboratively with technicians and production supervisors
  • Provide direction to the various equipment operators
  • Apply discretionary intervention to maximise production through pro-active identification of opportunities to reduce operational delays
  • Report on daily, weekly and monthly performance of equipment
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of all captured data within the fleet management system
  • Central communications across the CMJV including emergency response as well as inter-departmental communications
  • Fostering a positive and productive working relationship between team members and with other departments
  • Monitoring of safety devices and processes
  • Succession planning, coaching and developing relief dispatch personnel

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 7/7 rotating roster which requires nightshift work and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Dispatcher - minimum 2 years in coal mining industry [link removed]

  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, control and direct employees
  • Experience in Microsoft Office package and Fleet Management systems such as Leica, MineStar, Modular or similar systems at advanced user level.
  • A staunch commitment to safety and continuous improvement as a way of life
