Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.Our greatest asset is and has always been our people and communities, which is why we are committed to working together on our Pathway to 2030 - a program to responsibly close Mt Arthur Coal. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and safety-driven Coal Processing Supervisor to join our Processing team at Mt Arthur Coal. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual ready to take the next step in their career and lead a high-performing crew in a dynamic open-cut mining environment.
As a Coal Processing Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of operators and contractors to safely and efficiently deliver daily production targets. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage Coal Processing crews to achieve operational targets safely and efficiently.• Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance with site safety standards.• Monitor production performance and implement improvement initiatives.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of mine plans.• Coach and mentor team members to support their development and performance.• Contribute to planning and scheduling activities to optimise productivity.

About You
• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leading hand role within Coal Handling Prep Plant.• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on team engagement.• Sound understanding of CHPP operations, safety systems, and production processes.• Relevant qualifications including S1, S2, S3, and G2 (or willingness to obtain).• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
