About Mt Arthur Coal

Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.Our greatest asset is and has always been our people and communities, which is why we are committed to working together on our Pathway to 2030 - a program to responsibly close Mt Arthur Coal. About the Role

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to join the CHPP Coal Processing team. These are permanent positions working a 5/4 Day/Night roster, reporting to a Processing Supervisor. In this role, you will contribute to optimising production, improving equipment performance and availability and enhancing reliability to support future growth across our operations

  • Maintain the continuous operation of CHPP streams from ROM to train load-out.
  • Respond to breakdowns.
  • Learn to operate stockpile dozer, CHPP plant, control room and raw coal operations.
  • Ensure production targets for grade, quality and throughput are achieved.
  • Implement improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Hold relevant trade qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical).
  • Experience in a similar role with exposure to maintenance work.
  • Previous CHPP and/or dozer operation experience will be well regarded but not essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, strong decision-making skills with confidence to escalate where required, adaptable and eager to learn new skills.
