Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. You will lead a team of three accountants responsible for the Commercial function across the multi-mine complex including the Open Cut, Underground and CHPP operations.  The role is responsible for monthly management reporting, CAPEX reporting and applications, asset lifecycle and register management, budgets, forecasts, and ledger reconciliations. In addition, you will undertake analysis to support cost control and assist in making timely business decisions and play a key role in the developing annual business plans for the site.

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce
• CA/CPA membership
• 3-5 years post qualification experience (CA/CPA) preferably in the mining industry
• In depth knowledge of current Australian GAAP
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Previous experience leading a team
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• The motivation and ability to; be positive, be curious, learn, listen, contribute to a ‘one team’ work culture, take on challenges and deliver work to the standard and deadlines required.
