The Role:
A vacancy currently exists for trade qualified applicants for the position of Communication Technician, within the Mine Maintenance – Electrical & Communications department.
In this position you will use your trade experience to perform maintenance and installation activities in a team environment whilst ensuring safety of you and your team. This is a residential role in Mount Isa and reports directly to the Communications Supervisor. The role offers an even time 7:7 dayshift roster.
The successful application will have:
- A trade qualification – Radio Technician/Restricted Electrician or equivalent
- A current QLD manual driver’s licence
- Experience with Telephone, Optic Fibre, Radio VHF leaky feeder, LAN/Wi-Fi networks, as well as bench work experience
- Knowledge of SAP or similar maintenance systems
- A proactive attitude towards safety and the ability to follow relevant processes and procedures
- Previous underground experience is desirable although not essential.
