Community Administration and Support

Work Location: Residential in Hedland; Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Role overview:

The residential, Hedland-based Community Administration and Support position is responsible for providing administration support to the Pilbara Community team based in Fortescue's Community Office in South Hedland, and representing Fortescue through a variety of community-related activities, forums and events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the South Hedland Fortescue Community office and respond to all visitor, phone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide administration support to the Pilbara Community team as required
  • Responsible for all data entry including, updating and maintaining spreadsheets, submitting purchase order requests and processing invoices
  • Represent Fortescue at community events and on key committees, which involves weekend and after hour events
  • Provide Fortescue Pilbara residential staff with regular information about community activities

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administration or a communication role
  • Qualification and/or previous experience in Community Development, Social Investment or Communications or similar field desirable
  • High computer literacy with demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to different systems
  • Proficient in data management and reporting
  • High level professional communication skills, including written communication
  • High level interpersonal skills - ability to interact with a variety of people in a pleasant and professional manner
