About the Role
- This vacancy will accept applications until 11:59pm AEST on 23rd January 2024.
As the Community Specialist you will be responsible for various aspects of the Corporate Affairs Community portfolio, including developing and strengthening stakeholder relations, community development and social investment for the Carrapeteena Operation.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of social investment projects for Carrapeteena, including day-to-day project management/identification and coordination of leveraging opportunities.
- Support the development/implementation and delivery of the South Australian Social Investment Plan and budget.
- Support compliance and reporting activities associated with BHP Functional Requirements
- Contributes to the implementation of external research conducted for Carrapeteena and the South Australian Asset (CHRIOAs, CPS, etc).
- Coordinates the Carrapeteena Community Grants Program
- Work to support a considered, coordinated and consistent approach to stakeholder engagement for South Australian Carrapeteena Operation, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice to Operational teams on community sentiment, social value and reputational impacts of business decisions and engagements.
- Assist to implement the Operation / GM Stakeholder Engagement Management Plan, aligned with the South Australian Copper Provence Stakeholder Engagement Plan
About You
- Demonstrated strong capabilities in developing meaningful relationships with community members, organisations and other interested stakeholders.
- Experience in developing projects to address community issues.
- Experience in the area of community and social performance management, preferably in the resources sector
- An understanding of the broader agenda behind Social Investment to enhance the Company’s impact in community and reputation.
- Proven track record in teamwork and collaborative efforts to achieve program outcomes.
- Able to adapt to changing environments with competing priorities and complex issues.
- Demonstrated good problem solving, analytical and evaluative skills.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop strong relationships.
- Basic budget management skills
- Academic degree or professional qualification in social or political science, public policy, community development, or other relevant fields.
