Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective achievement of statutory and compliance objectives by setting targets, managing performance, coaching and influencing staff, and providing formal and informal feedback.
• Lead internal and external audits of the Safety Management System
• Maintain the mining engineering components of the Safety Management System so that it is simple, accessible and supports the end user to be safe, compliant with legislative requirements, and productive.
• Promote a risk management culture at the mine, ensuring employees are identifying hazards, engaged in safety initiatives and identifying safety improvements for the workplace.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement compliance strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

Must have:

• Practicing Certificate for Mining Engineering Manager of Underground Coal Mines
