Title: Compliance Technical Officer (Electrical) – Green Fleet Development

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer Green Fleet Development, we are presently looking for an experienced Electrical Compliance Technical Officer

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the development of technical standards suitable for the for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Green Fleet Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Lead the development of inspection test records suitable for the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Green Fleet Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Providing technical guidance and governance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance to relevant standards
  • Resolution of technical issues related to standards and/or compliance
  • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
  • Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
  • Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Electrical Supervisor, or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and International standards relevant to Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment
  • Experience with development of electrical standards
  • Experience with Hazardous materials and Hazardous Area Awareness
  • Experience with Functional Safety standard and compliance
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
  • High commitment to safety
  • Experience with SAP work management
  • Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to work well in a team
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable
  • Skilled in rapid problem solving
