ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.
As the Condition Monitoring Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and managing equipment condition using advanced techniques such as vibration analysis and thermography.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and lubrication tasks.
- Manage data and samples for offsite analysis.
- Generate work orders and ensure accurate SAP data for reliability analysis.
- Provide expert advice on equipment condition and improvement strategies.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with SAP experience being advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of vibration, thermography, and oil analysis techniques.
- Ability to contribute to the development of maintenance strategies and procedures.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Mechanical trade qualification and/or Mechanical Engineering qualifications
- Class C or higher Drivers Licence
- Vibration Analysis ISO CAT 1, Thermography Analysis ISO CAT 1 and Machinery Lubrication and Oil Analysis ISO CAT 1 preferred
- EWP or willingness to perform training
- First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain
