Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for:

The Condition Monitoring Technician, under the supervision of the Senior Reliability Engineer, will join the Fixed Plant Maintenance Department at Cadia Valley Operations.

The primary focus of this role is to identify and initiate opportunities for continuous improvement in fixed plant performance, reliability and maintenance cost using vibration analysis and other condition monitoring techniques.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with internal teams including Maintenance Specialists, Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Foreman/Supervisors, and Lubrication Technicians. Additionally, you'll engage externally with industry experts in vibration analysis and Condition Monitoring, as well as Condition Monitoring sub-contractors.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Gather field condition monitoring data per monitoring schedule and administration of site vibration databases.
  • Timely routine reporting of analysis results to reliability engineers and specialists.
  • Alert reliability engineers and specialists about abnormal trends, promptly escalating analysis variances.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of sampling PM KPIs, while monitoring and periodically auditing site vibration analysis schedule compliance.
  • Recommend refinements to condition monitoring system utilization and deployment to improve asset reliability and reduce asset operating costs.
  • Standardization of sampling processes and techniques across fixed plant.
  • Timely completion of work allocated and undertaken.

You will also possess the following:

  • Trade qualification with extensive experience and post trade qualifications in condition monitoring and vibration
  • Vibration Analyst Certification essential, ISO 18436, VCAT Level 2. Additional Condition monitoring technique certifications highly regarded.
  • Proficient in analysing and resolving complex datasets.
  • Effective in communicating issues and their repercussions.
  • Proactive in initiating actions.
  • Skilled in engaging with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong organization, meticulousness, and a process-oriented approach.

Candidates with experience in the following areas will also be taken into consideration and would greatly benefit the role:

  • Oil analysis
  • Thermography
  • Machinery lubrication
