About the role 

This is a permanent full-time role being offered on a 8:6 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns. Residential on Groote Eylandt will be considered.

Being responsible for the management and safety of construction projects, you’ll effectively plan, organise, and lead to create an efficient and safe workplace in which to deliver projects in line with the GEMCO business plan.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

• Manage the allocation of contractors and onsite resources needed to deliver assigned works
• Provide advice and support on issues and processes, identifying safer and more efficient methods of doing construction
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks to schedule, budget, quality, resourcing, procurement, constructability, and health and safety for all construction activities
• Provide technical support for capital works and associated maintenance activities
• Work with the Projects team to actively contribute to forecasting and scheduling construction activities and to identify and control all execution risks
• Ensure risk management processes are being applied and that delivery of all work under your supervision is executed in a safe manner
• Manage safety incidents associated with your team, including escalation, reporting and data collection

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Several years’ experience supervising in a brownfield construction environment
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualification
• Supervisor Training – S1, S2, S3
• Visible field safety leadership with ability to drive safety and performance excellence
• Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders at various levels
• Class C Driver’s License
